Nashoba Valley Technical High School

Kamran Graf and Juan Ruvalcaba, both of Pepperell, have been selected as the December Athletes of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.

Kamran Graf, son of Joshua and April Graf, is a senior on the wrestling team who had posted a 14-6 record as of January 16, with all 14 wins coming by pin. He won the Big Red Tournament in December in the 144-pound weight class. Kamran also plays football for the Vikings and is in the Plumbing & Heating program. He works for The Portland Group in Billerica through Nashoba Tech’s Cooperative Education program.

Kam was nominated by wrestling coach Larry Bavis for his dedication to the sport and for not missing a practice.

Juan Ruvalcaba, son of Juan and Krystle Ruvalcaba, is a first-year member of the cheer team. He is a junior in the Cosmetology program who hopes to attend barber school after graduation and earn his barber’s license. He is a freshman mentor and an honor-roll student.

Juan was nominated by cheer coach Christine Patenaude, who wrote: “Juan shows up and puts 100 percent into every practice and game. He shows commitment, takes direction and, more importantly, he is kind and respectful to all teammates.”
