Samantha Valcourt of Westford and Ryan Pearson of Townsend have been selected as November’s Athletes of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Samantha Valcourt, daughter of Tara and the late Alan Valcourt, is a junior cheerleading captain in the fall and winter, and outfielder for the softball in the spring. Samantha is a high-honors student in the Health Assisting program and has been inducted into the National Honor Society.
She is also president of the Class of 2021 and is active in community service through Health Assisting, including as a regular visitor to Bridges, an assisted-living facility in Westford whose residents have Alzheimer’s, dementia or other forms of memory loss. Upon graduation, she plans to remain the health field.
Ryan Pearson, son of T.J. and Danielle Pearson, is a junior linebacker/wide receiver for the football team and scored on both sides of the ball for the Vikings. He had three interceptions, including one for a touchdown, in one game, an early-season victory over KIPP Academy of Lynn.
Ryan also plays lacrosse in the spring for the Vikings. He is in the Carpentry program.
