Cheyanne Thistley and David Cate, both Pepperell residents and both seniors in the Design & Visual Communications program, have been selected as March Students of the Month at Nashoba Tech.

Cheyanne Thistle, daughter of Richard Thistle and Lynn Leader, is an honor-roll student and a member of the Yearbook Club. As a sophomore, her poster was chosen as the first-place winner out of 80 entrants in the Middlesex Partnership for Youth’s annual Poster Project, and as a junior, she received Honorable Mention in the same contest. As a junior, she won a silver medal in Advertising Design at the SkillsUSA District Conference.

Cheyanne has been accepted to and plans to attend, Mt. Ida College to major in Graphic Design. She was nominated by Design & Visual Communications Instructor Derik Rochon, who wrote: “Cheyanne has won numerous awards throughout her junior and senior years. When in class, she works hard to complete her work and, in addition, does anything else she can to help. Cheyanne also is a member of multiple clubs and tries to be a productive member of the community as a Girl Scout. She is a shining example of an NVTHS student.”

David Cate, son of Robert Cate and Annette LeBlanc, is vice president of the Class of 2018 and a member of the spring track team. David has been accepted to several colleges and has narrowed his choices down to Middlesex Community College and Mt. Wachusett Community College. He has not decided on a course of study but would like to study something in the Science field.

He was nominated by Science Instructor David McCloskey, who wrote: “David has been an outstanding student all his years here at Nashoba. On top of that, David has been a class officer and has the most positive attitude toward making the Nashoba community a much better place. His school spirit is second to none.”
