3 SENIORS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD ARE CERTIFIED AS NANNIES BY INTERNATIONAL AGENCY

WESTFORD — Three students in the Early Childhood Education program at Nashoba Tech have been certified as nannies by the International Nanny Association, the largest such organization in the world.

From left are Nashoba Tech seniors Baylee Rajaniemi and Eliott Searle, and postgraduate Samantha Archer. All three have been certified by the International Nanny Association.

The INA serves as the umbrella organization for the in-home child-care industry.

The three students — all from Pepperell — are seniors Baylie Rajaniemi and Eliott Searle, and postgraduate Samantha Archer. They took the test in December after preparing for six months and were notified in January that they passed and are now certified nannies.

The exam covers such areas as child development; family/provider communication; child guidance; multicultural/diversity awareness; learning environment; personal qualities of a nanny; safety; management skills; nutrition and professionalism.
