WESTFORD — Kendra Carter of Chelmsford and Cameron Cook of Westford have been selected as September’s Students of the Month at Nashoba Tech.

Kendra Carter, daughter of Rocco and Amanda Carter, is a junior honor-roll student in the Culinary Arts program at Nashoba Tech. She is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and a member of the Chorus that was the first group in Nashoba Tech’s history to be invited to sing at the Massachusetts State House. Kendra enjoys catering events at local senior centers. She especially likes the baking aspect of Culinary Arts and hopes one day to open her own bakery.

Kendra was nominated by Music Instructor Laura Lamore, who wrote, “Kendra has a bright and positive attitude that always brings a smile to my face. She has been helping to gather the freshmen as they locate their shops and greets them kindly. She has taken on a leadership role in Chorus and in Culinary Arts, and is someone who can truly be relied upon.”

Chef-Instructor Carley Capraro added, “Kendra is a huge part of the shop. She is a hard-working and committed student who is always ready to volunteer to help, She is good at what she does, and is confident in her work.”

Cameron Cook, son of Lewis Cook and Tracy LeBlanc, is a sophomore in TV & Media Production/Theatre Arts. He is a member of the Theatre Club and the Gay Straight Alliance. He will play a small role in the Theatre Club’s upcoming production of the musical “Xanadu,” but he hopes to play larger roles in future productions. He hopes to attend college after graduation and to work in the music industry.

Cameron was nominated by Math Instructor Jodie Murphy, who wrotem “He is an excellent math student and a very helpful individual. He will help other students who are struggling. If I notice a student struggling and I am busy, I can always ask him to assist that student. In addition, he consistently offers to help me by offering to pass back homework or pass out items to his class. I feel he is an exemplary Nashoba Tech student.”

Cameron is the same way in TV & Media Production/Theatre Arts, according to Instructor Emily Smith, who wrote, “He is always smiling and is a pleasure to have each day in our program. He is eager to learn about the entertainment industry, and he brings joy to the classroom and into rehearsals after school.”
