WESTFORD — Barbara Whitney, a fixture at Nashoba Tech for more than 35 years, teaching math and special education, has been selected as October's Employee of the Month.
She was nominated by two fellow staff members. English Instructor Dan Ford wrote: "Every day, Barbara brings a positive attitude and a true passion for her students to work with her. She plays multiple roles as a teacher and liaison for several students. Students who have Ms. Whitney can count on her thorough and complete involvement in ensuring their success. The dedication she demonstrates is impressive and on display for all to see. She truly is part of the fabric that makes Nashoba Tech unique". Math Instructor Jodie Murphy wrote: "She offers to help wherever necessary, helping with OSHA testing, volunteering for activities, helping with Math Department meetings, attending SEPAC meetings before Open House, helping new teachers with questions, and going above and beyond to assist any student she suspects needs her help".
