WESTFORD — Jodie Murphy, a Mathematics instructor in her 11th year at Nashoba Tech, was nominated by four staff members.
Health Assisting Instructor Vicki Poulin wrote: “Jodie is a highly dedicated professional who knows how to motivate her students to strive for excellence. She is also very organized and always finds the time to help others achieve their best.”
Math Instructor Ed Doherty wrote: “Jodie has stepped up in the Math Department again this school year as cluster chair as well as mentor to the new math teachers. She is always willing to listen, collaborate and give suggestions in all aspects of working at Nashoba Tech, whether it’s about lessons, classroom management, activities, or tech support of X2 gradebook, website or graphing calculators.”
Math Instructor Mary Silk wrote: “Jodie always looks forward to helping others, whether or not she is helping students or her peers. She shows enthusiasm in her tasks and encourages all to succeed. Jodie goes above and beyond to ensure others do well, as evidenced by her continuing to go to new-teacher meetings, guiding others with X2 questions/concerns, and offering special educators advice. She is willing to share her ideas, assignments and time to anyone who asks.”
And Math Instructor Nathan Kelly wrote: “Not only does Jodie care deeply for the growth of her students, but she does whatever she can to help her fellow teachers. She works tirelessly to help bring success to all those around her.”
